Research Director

Responsible for overseeing a ten year $150+ million research program, the Research Director champions new approaches to research that deliver commercial opportunities and maximum industry impact. S/he:

  • Leads a large distributed team of high-calibre researchers
  • Makes strategic decisions about research investment
  • Brokers new research and funding opportunities
  • Undertakes personal research into target areas of impact (up to 40% of role)

You will have led large research teams and have a track record of commercialising research in the AgriFood or Digital Technology sectors. You will be a leader, a mentor, a motivator and a passionate advocate of the agrifood and/or digital industries.

The role will be hosted by one of our foundation universities (Curtin, UTS, QUT) with the successful candidate able to negotiate an academic appointment at the host institution.

Chief Operating Officer

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) oversees business strategy and operations, including IT, communications and marketing, finance, legal and administration. S/he:

  • Co-designs and delivers the business strategy, plans and procedures
  • Manages staff performance
  • Ensures necessary resources and infrastructure
  • Is responsible for Commonwealth and stakeholder reporting

You will have demonstrated that you can get things done, stay on top of the details of day-to-day operations and manage complex environments with a wide variety of stakeholders.

Project Officer

(communication & administration)

What we are seeking

Food Agility is seeking a great all-rounder in a full-time position that supports communication and administration for our research projects. You will have an eye for detail, a good head for process and a willingness to jump in and learn new skills to get the job done. Graphic design skills will be highly regarded.

What you will be responsible for

With Food Agility CRC in start-up mode, you will be hands on and able to operate independently to:

  • provide administrative support for research projects
  • create and post social media content
  • develop project case studies for dissemination across a range of channels
  • manage contact databases
  • organise events
  • design basic collateral (eg. PowerPoint presentations, invitations)
  • coordinate project reporting

What you need to be successful

You are a team player who is passionate about AgriFood and/or digital technology sectors. You will also have:

  • a relevant degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • great organisational skills and attention to detail
  • experience developing creative content for a range of channels
  • graphic design skills and working knowledge of different design software
  • understanding of different social media platforms and how to use them strategically
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
