FOOD FOR LIFE

Building data-driven resilience in our agrifood supply chains.

Mission Food For Life

Drought. Fire. Flood. Pandemic. Geo-political trade barriers. Our agrifood supply chains have been hit with compounding shocks.

Mission Food for Life is a $10million initiative that will deliver new data-driven capabilities to increase the value of the Australian agrifood sector and help us keep food on the table in a crisis and beyond.

Join the Mission and co-invest in new technologies to help the Australian agrifood industry to rebound quickly, reinvent business models and build resilience.

3 campaigns delivered by 2023:

Campaign 1

Identify critical supply chain intervention points

This campaign is identifying what parts of our agrifood supply chains are most vulnerable to shocks and stresses and where R&D and data and digital interventions can deliver the greatest return on investment.

"We need to proactively invest in implementing strategies that leverage digital and data interventions to enhance the sector's underlying resilience."
Ben van Delden, KPMG Australia Partner and Head of AgriFood Tech.
Report

The AgriFood Supply Chain Resilience report was compiled in collaboration with KPMG Australia and Food Agility CRC. It looks across six key supply chains: grains, red meat, dairy, horticulture, wine and seafood. It identifies the inherent stresses and what happens when shocks occur, then goes further to determine which mitigation strategies could have the greatest impact.

Campaign 2

Create data-driven tools to support resilient businesses and communities

This campaign aims to put data-driven tools in the hands of agribusinesses and communities to help them make long-term decisions for resilience, including profitability, sustainability and risk.

"If you're effective in sharing knowledge then outcomes by default are enhanced profits, business trust and stronger communities."
Nicola Pero, CEO Food and Fibre Gippsland.

Campaign 3

Build connected, trusted supply chains via data and digital

This campaign aims to digitally connect supply chains, creating end-to-end data flows that build trust and flexibility to manage shocks, grasp opportunities and pivot into new business models.

"It's not until all parts of the supply chain are connected with data flowing throughout, that we will see the true potential of our agrifood system."
Mara Bun, Head of Strategy, Food Agility CRC.
