Dr Negin Shariati

Constellation Leader

Negin is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). She established the state of the art RF and Communication Technologies (RFCT) research laboratory at UTS, where she is currently the Co-Director and leads research and development in RF and Communication Technologies, Sustainable Sensing, Energy Harvesting, Low-power Internet of Things and AgTech.

She leads the Sensing Innovations Constellation at Food Agility CRC, enabling new innovations in agriculture technologies by focusing on three key interrelated streams; Sensing, Energy and Connectivity.

Negin completed her PhD in Electrical-Electronics and Communication Technologies at RMIT in 2016. She worked in industry as an Electrical-Electronics Engineer from 2009-2012.

Her research and innovations have been recognised by Standout Research Award in the 2021 IoT Awards, Outstanding ECR (Early Career Researcher) Award at UTS and IEEE Victorian Section Best Research Paper Award. She is passionate about applying her research in real-world scenarios and applications to create tangible outcomes and impact.
