Data Policy Manager (full-time)

About the role

You will implement the Food Agility CRC Data Policy project, whilst supporting partnership engagement, lead project activities and achieve key results as outlined in the project agreement and activity plans. You will oversee testing of the Australian Farm Data Code and Food Agility Data Policy and provide insights from pilot projects that will assist in further development of practical mechanisms for data governance.

This role is based in the Centre for eResearch and Digital Innovation (CeRdi) at Federation University at the Mt Helen, Berwick or Gippsland Campuses.

HEW 8, $100,726 - $113,176 p.a, plus 17% super

About you

Reporting to the Director, CeRDI and collaboratively with the Corporate Affairs Manager, National Farmers’ Federation and Chief Commercial Officer, Food Agility CRC, you will operate with a large degree of autonomy to support partnership engagement and project development activities. You will undertake analysis of requirements and lead the engagement, annual reviews, evaluation and updates to the National Farmers’ Federation Australian Farm Data Code. You will pilot the Food Agility Data Sharing Agreement template in projects and consolidate feedback whilst leading education activities. You will possess:

  • expertise in project scoping, planning and management, including demonstrated experience in managing working groups of senior stakeholders on matters of data sharing, policy, certification programs to achieve quality and timely objectives;
  • expert knowledge of policy writing, certification programs, education and practical mechanisms for implementing policies;
  • ability to lead and managing large, strategic, national projects so they support partnership engagement and perform successfully across project functions;
  • strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, including proven engagement experience across universities, agriculture and government where you will drive a national conversation around improving data management in agriculture.
