Postdoctoral Research Associates/Fellows in RF and Communication Technologies

About the role

The UTS School of Electrical and Data Engineering has strong links with industry and a very proud record in teaching in networking and telecommunications, cybersecurity, data science engineering, electrical and electronic engineering. We are also deeply engaged in research of a national and international standing.


We are recruiting for multiple Postdoctoral Research Associates/Fellows in RF and Communication Technologies to be part of an industry project consisting of four work packages addressing key constraints of power consumption; Sensing Methods and Modes; Remote Sensing and Data Collection; Connectivity and Networking and supporting data analytics aimed at improving both sensor performance and system optimisation.


In this role you will also be required to supervise PhD students, publish high quality research papers and participate in research grant applications.


About you

As a Postdoctoral Research Associate/Fellow, you will have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently, as well as analyse and solve problems. You will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability work closely with industry and external academic partners in the delivery of practical impact-focused research. Other requirements will include:

  • PhD in RF, Communications Technology, Wireless Communications/Networking, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering / Science
  • Successful research interaction with industry
  • Strong record of research achievement / publication track record.


Base Salary Range: $86,331 to $105,146 (Level A) $114,836 to $135,915 pa (Level B)


This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.


This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a 12 month fixed-term basis. There is potential for extension dependent on project funding.
