New Food Agility CRC Data Advisory Group to guide data strategy

Food Agility has convened a group of three of Australia’s leading thinkers on data privacy, security and innovation to guide its approach to using data.

The Food Agility CRC Data Advisory Group is made up of:

Peter Leonard: Peter is a data & technology business consultant and lawyer and expert in data rights. He is also Chair of the Australian IoT Alliance’s Data Access, Use and Privacy workstream, the Law Society of NSW’s Privacy and Data Committee and of the Australian Computer Society’s AI & Ethics Committee.

Chris Mendes, Chief Technology Officer at The Yield and experienced leader in the world of data start-ups. He has held leading roles at technology companies including Sirca, RoZetta Technology & Canon (CiSRA). ​

Ian Opperman, NSW’s data policy as government’s Chief Data Scientist. He is an Industry Professor and has previously held leading roles at CSIRO, RoZetta Technology and Nokia Siemens.

The advisory group has helped shape the Draft Food Agility CRC Data Policy, which is currently being finalised in consultation with Food Agility partners. It aims to balance the interests of all parties and create a trusted environment to share data and innovation.
