Highly respected Company Director and lawyer celebrated for his contribution to Food Agility CRC over several years.

Food Agility CRC is deeply saddened to announce the death of Philip Marcus Clark AO, who passed away on 9 January 2026.

Phil played an instrumental role in Food Agility's short history. He was an integral part of the team that secured Commonwealth funding through the federal government's CRC program and served as a non-executive Board Director from 2019, and Chair of Food Agility Consultancy (FAC) until his retirement in December 2025.

Chair of Board, Dr Anne Astin AM PSM, paid tribute to Phil's commitment and contribution to Food Agility.

“Phil was a highly respected Company Director and lawyer, bringing deep governance experience, commercial acumen, sound judgement and integrity to the Board. His contribution was significant and enduring.

"Phil was a principled and thoughtful Director whose insights and commitment to strong governance greatly enriched both the Food Agility CRC Board and FAC. He was a valued colleague and will be remembered with great respect and gratitude. We are grateful for his unwavering service and the legacy he leaves," said Dr Astin.

Managing Director of FAC, Mr Richard Norton, said Phil was a highly respected and experienced legal professional.

"It was an honour for FAC to have had such an accomplished individual serve as Chair of our Board. His expertise and leadership greatly strengthened our governance and strategic direction, and his contributions will be remembered with deep gratitude," said Mr Norton.

"On behalf of the Board and Food Agility team, I extend our sincere appreciation for Phil’s service and our deepest condolences to his family, friends and professional colleagues," said Dr Astin.
