Founding CEO of Food Agility CRC, Dr Mike Briers AO, has announced that he will step down from his role. As part of the long-planned transition, Dr Briers will stay on until he can hand over the reins to a new CEO, with applications for the role opening today.
“I’ve started a lot of companies over the years, but this is my favourite and my best,” said Dr Briers.
“I’m immensely proud of our achievements over the first few years. We have a very strong pipeline of research projects that are already delivering real impact for our industry partners.
“We’ve also pushed the boundaries, striving to change the way collaborative research happens in Australia and bringing new innovation models that deliver greater impact and a return on investment for partners.
“A big thank-you to the incredible team and our network of partners who work so hard to ensure Australia has a sustainable food future.”
Food Agility CRC Chair Dr Anne Astin AM PSM thanked Dr Briers for his incredible contribution to the CRC and the broader agrifood ecosystem.
“Mike has put all the foundations in place, building a high-performance team, strong culture and an incredible pipeline of projects that will sustain the business well into the next phase of its lifecycle. into the future.
“He has also been relentless in pursuing a vision for Australian innovation that delivers more: more impact, more investment and more opportunities.
“On behalf of all the board, I thank Mike for his incredible work ethic, his steady leadership, his sharp intelligence, his engaging focus on people, his ability to challenge existing paradigms and his ability to see the big picture.
“We are now looking for someone to fill those big shoes and hand over the mantle of Food Agility’s mission to harness the power of data and digital to create a sustainable food future.”
